Elena Wiener Field Observation Journal Entries EDPC 610 Summer 2019 Journal Entry 1: I am beginning my field observation in a school in North Bellmore called the Saw Mill Road Elementary School in a 4 th grade class taught by Mrs. Gallagher. The school is not particularly diverse, most students are Caucasian and from middle-class income families. From my first day I did notice a few things that stuck out to me about some students in particular. In terms of students with learning disabilities, two of the children are at a 2 nd grade reading level. The school provides several tools and strategies to assist them with completing the coursework and attempting to help them overcome their issues and get on the same page as the rest of the class.
